When I started doing karate it took a bit of getting used to bowing as we entered the dojo, and also the bowing as a class that we do at the start of every lesson to honour our Senseis, our Kancho and each other. But I can see why it's done, out of respect, and I am more than happy to do it now. I hope you enjoy your martial arts lessons as much as I have!

Bowing to the Training Hall (Kung Fu) - Yet another taste of freedom!
by AlmostAtheist ingina and i signed zach up for kung fu classes today.
as i was flipping through their little booklet, i saw a bit about bowing to the training hall as you enter.
it says this gives reverence to those masters that have died, and thanks them for their efforts in seeing that the martial arts have been practiced, enhanced, and handed down to you.. what a beautiful thought, and how wonderful and fulfilling it is to know we don't have to go through any jw crap about it.

Anyone else see the holes in their methods? Seems like bad science to me.

Can anyone in NE England help me
by jaffacake ini only became interested in jws because by lifelong best friend and his wife are soon to be baptized.
at first this all seemed harmless and i noticed some positive changes in their lives.
i have studied the bible & past watchtowers plus ray franz books for 5 months to dissuade them from the path they are on.

jaffacake - i can recommend you contact Gadget, or even myself. I grew up in the organisation; I left 4 years ago when I realised what a bunch of nonsense it is. If I you would like to contact me, just PM me and I'll pass on my details.

Well, my mam told the Elders I was smoking weed and having sex (which I was, though not always at the same time). They came round to ask if it was true, and I said "Yeah, but isn't one of them enough for you?" They agreed just one of those was enough and booted me out. I was happy, as the 6 months prior to that of not going to meetings hadn't really clued them up.

I left the organisation when I was 19, and in a similar situation my 2 older siblings were not Witnesses. Welcome to the boards, and if you ever need to chat just PM me and I'll give whatever advice you need. Or if you don't need any, then an ear.
Good luck with things. -

Why English Food/Beer is better.........Meat Pudding Tales.
by ScoobySnax insteak and kidney meat pudding....... beefsteak cubed with kidney, wrapped in a suet dough with gravy and placed in a pudiing and boiled in a cloth tied at the top for 2-3 hours depending on size (be sure to top up the boiling water) .when done, undo the cloth and slice the pudding.
add english mustard (not that french crap) salt, pepper, and a dash of worcester sauce.
serve with new potatoes and mushy peas.

Bear in mind British food in general was invented to be something hot and filling after a hard day's work. For that, it's a world-leader. French cuisine is designed to entertain your pallette. Both have their good and bad points. For me though, you can't beat a Sunday Roast Dinner with Yorkshire puds, roast taties and lots of gravy.

Funnily, I love "dressing up", probably because it's so rare - and these days it's for me only!

Making the most of life!
So many... (in particular)
Sex with a girl you like who likes you back.
Classic movies you once wouldn't touch.
The music (the devil all the best tunes, hehe).
Friends, wonderful friends who are better in any way the witness "friends" were.
The knowledge of the real truth.
The food.
So many, it cuts me when I think of the family and friends who will never experience this life because they're too busy waiting for the next one...
